Idea for a dinner party...what do you think?

There are only a handful of other residents in my program who, along with their spouses, have a special interest in food. My wife and I were thinking of planning a dinner party where each couple would make a dish from The French Laundry cookbook. Since we're hosting it we might make the amuse and more than one dish, but we're probably not skilled enough to attempt to make more than 3 dishes at one time. So, how does this sound? What potential pitfalls do you foresee?

If you have the right group it will be fun. Just make sure that nobody is likely to take themselves too seriously, because there are bound to be fuck ups somewhere.

Sounds like fun, and a theme everyone should enjoy if they have an interest in good food and cooking.
