Anybody have experience with Clrear Communications as an ISP?

I am about to move to a hi rise building in the Galleria area of Houston, Tx.

I currently have Comcast as an ISP and they are satisfactory, though frustrating.

I was going to use Clear in my new building since they said the building has coverage.

But then I did a Google and I read these reviews:

And they seem terrible!! And the other Google results for Clear ISP reviews, is just as bad.

It makes me scared to use them.

Does anyone have experience with Clear? Either first hand or anecdotal.

What do you think? And Thanks.

They're just like other internet companies, great for the most part, but riddled with problems. That's not to say Clearwre is necessarily bad, but in my 3 yr. experience with them I can definitely say I had my share of problems with them including connection problems, slow internet, and dead zones. However, if your connection zone is good and the Clearwire modem is put in an area that receives a nice connection, then you should be fine.

I used them for about a year they were absolutely garbage... the worst internet service I ever had... dial up was better...

If I can prevent one person from getting them I'd feel good... their service/coverage was awful and their customer service even worst... after I sent the modem back they tried to charge me something ridiculous like $ 90 for re-stocking fees...

I think you have an idea as to how I feel about them... just my $ 0.02

i'm near downtown houston and use the clear 4g network on my sprint phone but i stuck with a comcast connection for home computer use because it really is a completely different ballgame to try to take everything wireless. i am a heavy user between 100-200 gb per month.

comcast has actually been improving lately and my service speed has been almost doubled within the last year so i'm beginning to hate paying them $70 a month a bit less as time goes by.
