Let's discuss: COS, Collection of Style - Page 18

New poster here, but I've been lurking for a while.

I'm a regular Cos shopper, but I try and stick to the Birmingham shop to avoid the postage fees. I've bought a few things online though. I'm from the UK, but when I've bought stuff on the site before the pricing has come up in Euros along with the postage pricing and it turned out to be a lot cheaper. It's now switched to GBP pricing. I was wondering if there's any way that I can use the Euro pricing and get it mailed to the UK?

Can you post a picture of the hooded coat? I'm interested in the color, because on the shops sitei t looks more glack/grey than navy.

It is a bit snug over my upper back and shoulders, but I'm pretty built in those areas. Def go TTS. A 52 would probably look sloppy on me and be huge in the midsection. It'll probably stretch a bit like wool blazers do.

The collarless/hidden placket shirt isn't for me. I think the style is a bit too feminine/looks weird on guys that aren't skinny model look-a-likes.

That peacoat looks like it has the same outer and cut as the hoodcoat. I'd say go for it.

Thanks for the insight. Do you think the price (225 eur) is justified by the cut, material, whatever (i.e. good price-quality ratio)?

I'm probably coming off as insecure and incapable of judging -- beyond making an ass of myself -- because I've been able to gather very little info on COS clothing in general, and any detailed information seems very scarce.

I paid 165 euros for it the other day when they had 20% off. Still worth it at retail.

You're probably not gonna find a similar style jacket at that price point. The only alternatives I can think off in this semi-formal, short, hooded jacket style is either one of Stephan Schneiders coats (800 dollars)  or something from a japanese ultra expensive label. The quality might not be the best, but it's still enough for most people. I mainly buy COS because of the styling, which is great for the price.

Coat is navy. Nothing weird about it. Sure you're not looking at the cotton version? That one is certainly a washed out black/grey.

Here's the wool one I've got:

conceptionist I assume you got a size 50 from your previous post?

could you post some measurements? I know you recommended TTS but I'm between sizes usually

thanks

Yes, I got a size 50.

I think you should get the larger size if you're in between. Like I said, I'm usually a large but sometimes go down to medium, in Uniqlo oxfords for instance.

Measurements for wool hoodcoat size 50:

pit-pit: 55 cm

shoudler-shoulder: 46 cm

arm from shoulder seam: 66 cm

Back length: 71 cm

I'm 192 cm tall, 83 kg and have a chest of 102-104cm.

Some fit pics:

Edit: Trousers are also COS.

Gonna need a proxy! Skimmed through the thread and saw people's posts albeit from a while ago, who's still active?

Nice pics!

Can you comment on the thickness of the coat? Is it more of a fall or a winter item?

You have one 11 posts above you.

Thanks for the fit pics. Looks shorter than I thought it'd be, will probably wait until sale time and see if it's still there.

Ideally, it would be about 2 inches longer.

Bear in mind that I'm 6'3.

About the thickness - I don't know man. Thickness relative to what?

If you can fit a sweater underneath (I can just do so), it's probably gonna hold down to about zero degrees.

I will probably use it for fall and early winter which is about +10 to 0 celsius. Gonna grab a long, warmer coat for when it gets really cold.

Love the whole fit conceptionist. Are those the melange wool trousers?

Yeah, but mine are from last season. Got them for 50 euro on sale.

Cut is great. Some people say they run little big in waist. I wear a 48 and my waist is 34" where I wear them. I usually get 31-33 in denim and 32 in pants.

Taper to 7" at the hem. I remember thinking they were a bit itchy at first because of the polyester, but I don't mind that now.

Cool. Seems like we have the exact same measurements. Thanks for the info.
