Flattened lapel roll

I have a number of MTM suits that are towards the lower end of the full-canvass quality specturm. They always have a nice lapel roll when new, and usually come back from the cleaners with a good roll, but I've found that over time the lapel roll flattens out.

Is this because they aren't using the finest canvas? Is it because they get squished in my closet? Will this happen to a very high quality suit?

i think its the closet squish. try pressing the roll area then giving some the squish and some more space.
hope you give us the test results.

I pressed the lapel by turning it over and pressing the reverse side flat at the roll. I'm sure this technique isn't very professional, but it did restore some of the roll.
