Some interesting names for New & Lingwood's latest coats and jackets... Troughton, Baker, Cushing, McGann, Eccleston:

:)

My nerdy nature spots some slightly less obvious Doctor Who allusions in some of the other model names too, but they could equally well be coincidences, so I think I've preserve what little cool I have left and not expound further on this...

I spotted Richard Hurndall but thought I ought to attempt to retain a modicum of dignity ;-)

Warwick is lost on me , though: Unless an actor who was in four episodes of Earthshock counts... that would show five star geekiness on behalf of the N&L team!

The sizes available indicate that these garments are only available for skinny Brits
and their sprightly counterparts in other realms.

Meh... I want jackets and coats named after Doctor Who's enemies, things like The Sontaran, The Dalek, The Sea Devil. The Cyberman, The Kroton.

How about assistants? I wouldn't mind being wrapped up in a Romana...

Well, the Hurndall, as HHD later pointed out was the main other one in terms of actors. I also think episodes of Doctor Who were filmed in several of the towns used as jacket names (Whitby and Warwick definitely; not sure about the others) and at least a couple of the naval-sounding jacket names are places/characters Doctor Who has met like Nelson. All these latter ones are more likely random coincidence than intent though, which is why I hesitated to mention them.

I didn't notice that in the online catalog.
I love those coats. But even if they have my size, I couldn't justify one
in our local climate.
