StyleForum,
Our production company (InnerfaceFilms) is in the planning stages for a film highlighting US denim enthusiasts and their denim. The film will be primarily interview-based, and will cover topics like "how you got into raw denim", "why they chose the particular pair they are wearing", and "their primary interests in the forums", among many other areas. We will be organizing a day and location in New York City and Washington DC, and are working on the logistics for setting up days in San Francisco and Los Angeles, where enthusiasts can come to be interviewed, as well as show off their current/past jeans. If you also frquent Superfuture, there is a thread with more updates here: http://www.superfuture.com/supertalk/showthread.php?t=304536

The film is aimed to reach both "veteran" and new denim enthusiasts. There will be a lot of info and terms used by SuFu and other forum members to educate new enthusiasts, and hopefully enough footage and interview (partly with your help) to interest some of the members who have been around for a while, including interviews with Beatle and JimmyC (Who have created a special edition, single-run DoubleXX shirt to the cause!), as well as many others that we are getting in touch with as time goes on. The terminology, opinions, and viewpoints will solely be driven by the members and their interviews.

We have ZERO plans or interest to make money on this film. It is being made out of our own interest and passion, and for the Superfuture community in mind. Because money doesn't grow on trees we do have a Kickstarter campaign going for the film over the next 30 days (Until November 1st, see link below). Through our Kickstarter you will be able to advance-purchase the DVD/Blu-Ray, Limited edition and single-run DoubleXX shirt (Created by Beatle and JimmyC), and a slew of other cool things from the film. Kickstarter is theonly place to get this shirt and the DVD, as well as the book and other things! Again, the link is also at the bottom of this post!

The beauty of this project is that it will be shot on state of the art RED Cinema cameras, (Pirates if the Caribbean 4, the upcoming Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, upcoming Hobbit films) which will be able to deliver beautiful visuals with stunning clarity, to really capture the beauty and detail of the denim that will be displayed, as well as the unique feel of these locations.

The film will also highlight a particular persons quest to find and decide on his first pair of raw selvage denim, and how the process works.

We have also contacted Kiya from Self Edge and he is excited and more than willing to be part of the film. He will be interviewed, and will take us on a tour of at least one, but hopefully all three (if we can work it out) Self Edge stores. In addition to this, we are planning to take a tour through Cone Mills to show the denim process and some history. Obviously we will hit other major hot spots and shops close to the denim community’s heart in these locations.

As I stated before, this film is can only be made with your help by participating. If you are interested in being filmed and can meet in one of the 4 locations (we will come up with specifics in the near future), please send me a PM or email at devin@innerfacefilms.com. We are looking to shoot the footage between January and February of 2012, starting with the east-coast locations. This will allow enough time for us to generate interest in the film. With your email of interest, we will add you to a monthly/bi-monthly email list to keep you informed of the progress of the film, and also to serve as a reminder to you of when we will be coming to your city to film you. After all, this project cannot be completed without you!

Lastly, ANYthing you guys wish to see/cover in this film, PLEASE LET US KNOW! Either by emailing us or responding in this thread. If you have a question or statement that you think others on this board would benefit from, please post in this thread rather than messaging. We really hope to make something beautiful that you all can appreciate, and mostly have fun! Also, let’s turn this into a couple of big east-coast/west-coast meet ups! Everyone can see the pictures we all post online, but seeing these beautiful pairs on film and in person is a completely different experience.

Thanks guys (and gals), we hope to hear from you and see you in the near future.
