5 Carminas - ─五兄弟

Purchased 5 Carminas recently.
2 of them were not my sizes. noticed that for somepeople Carmina should go with half size bigger than UK size.
I wear normally UK9.5 with regualr fit but Carmina I tried 9.5 and failed. Later ordered 3 more with size 10.
It fits me perfect.

Due to wrong size, 2 shoes (no. 1 & 2) must take to selling section later on.

Now it is time to wear them on my regualr days.
Overall Carmina provide me 100% satisfaction. I paid each 300~350 euros which and they give me more than what I paid.
I personally think that their leather is better is better than Church's custom grade since i have 3 pairs of Churchs.
Finishing detal is more neat. Outsold is hidden welted so looks more pricy~
Well, anyway we have many choices when you have 300 euro or pound but Carmina should be one of your concern.

Kev if you are ever in London you should get yourself to Spencer Hart (opposite Claridges). They have quite a large range of Carminas in there.

Thanks Stephen, will do, i have a function to attend every year in Dec at Claridges so that will fit in nicely.

Looks great! Now I want to get something like nr 2 myself.
How do you think the lasts fit in comparison to other brands like C&J?

Looking for something with more toe space but not wider heel than the 337 last.
Wolud the Rain last half a size up from the UK be an good option?

first i have no C&J so can't give you adivice on it.

compare to other lasts made in UK Rain was little tight for me.
also eyelet part was so wide open when i tie up laces.

i tried Herring, Loake, Barker, Cheaney and Church's but they are all okay with same size but Rain last just need half size bigger.

Hope this can help on your decision.

Perhaps I should go with the Simpson or Alacudia lasts. Wich one do you think offers most toe space?

if you want to have more toe space then definetely not Simpson. it is pretty narrow toe space.

Forest is quite big toe space and Alcudia is regualr.

Beautiful! I'm hooked on the 1st and 3rd!

How long did it take for Betty to reply to your emails? I tried liaising with her but haven't received a reply after a week.

I really like #4. Don't they make the exact same shoe but without the "brogueing"?

My wife just bought a new purse at Henri Bende's so I get to buy a new pair of shoes. My wife and I have a deal, every time she buys a new purse, I get to buy a new pair of shoes!!biggrin.gif
