Dear shoe experts..

I'm going to assume 90% of you are going to call me a fool and tell me to deal with it but here is the problem. I am 6 foot 7 and feel really uncomfortable with shoes with a heel. I currently wear nicer loafers to replace dress shoes. Here is the question, I love these shoes:

http://www.endless.com/Allen-Edmonds-Mens-Soho-Oxford/dp/B001044HEA/ref=sr_1_76?ie=UTF8&cAsin=B001045YCY&fromPage=search&sr=1-76&qid=1318860171299&asinTitle=Allen%20Edmonds%20Soho%20Oxford&contextTitle=search%20results&clientPageSize=100&brands=Allen+Edmonds&node=241993011&sort=-product_site_launch_date&nodes=241993011&rnid=brands&size=100

Oh and just to make things harder I am a US mens 14D.

Question 1: See in the heel, there are two layers, is it possible to remove the middle layer and not f*ck up the shoe to wear?

Question 2: Any other general suggestions other then man up and deal with it?

Appreciate your time,

Stuart

The heel is only about 0.5". At 6'7" it will be unnoticeable.

I'm 6' 4" and I never had an issue with the heel. Are you worried you're going to have to start ducking through doors (you're close already..)?
