I'm going to assume 90% of you are going to call me a fool and tell me to deal with it but here is the problem. I am 6 foot 7 and feel really uncomfortable with shoes with a heel. I currently wear nicer loafers to replace dress shoes. Here is the question, I love these shoes:

Oh and just to make things harder I am a US mens 14D.
Question 1: See in the heel, there are two layers, is it possible to remove the middle layer and not f*ck up the shoe to wear?
Question 2: Any other general suggestions other then man up and deal with it?
