The profile, I guess you'd call it...? Is the welt larger? They just seem to sit a bit higher on the tongue/laces than the Diemmes. That's not to say I dislike the Danners, but i prefer the Diemmes. Likely going to kop the Diemme's soon.

It is Black Friday sale, men's shoes category...3 or 4 Danner models included

Picked these up from J Crew with the 25% Cyber Monday discount, nice colour I hadn't seen. Have some Fracaps so looking forward to trying my first pair of Danner.

Does anyone in Seattle stock these (I mean aside from JCrew)? Danner's website doesn't have any Seattle locations listed but often sites can be out of date.

ANKLE FIT QUESTION:

Bought a pair of Mountain Trail's from this collection. The fit inside is good, but the ankle collar seems to be digging just above my achilles. I know that a thicker sock would help with this, but they seem to fit me best with a medium sock.

1. Is this something that will go away with break-in? The leather is pretty soft out of the box.
2. Should I wear the lacing up top loose or tight to maybe help?

^^^That seems to be a frequent complaint. I've had the same problem for about 3-4 days until they broke in. Definitely, wear the lacing up top loose in the beginning. the leather should get softer after a few days of consistent wear
