Morning shower or face wash?

I don't shower usually in the morning. I shower last thing at night, before going to bed. It's my me time, I shower for 30-45 minutes. As part of my night shower, every few days I give myself a proper wet shave.

In the mornings, I don't do anything. I just brush my teeth, and if needed, splash water over my eyes. I am usually in the bathroom for fewer than 5 minutes.

Now I'm hearing that this is very unhealthy! I am 30, and I have been doing this for the past 13 years or so. If I dare share this in public, people think it's disgusting, but no one can tell by looking at me.

Do you shower in the morning or at night? If in the morning, what if you work out during the day? If you don't shower in the mornings, do you wash your face or neck or?

Any recommendations appreciated!

How is this unhealthy? How dirty can you get lying in bed for 8 hours?

I am surprised you haven't developed leprosy. You are a vile and disgusting human being.

Apparently, during sleep, all sorts of oils build up on your face and neck. Your nose gets phlegmed up from breathing, and your eyes develop crud in them because they are doing lord knows what. when you wake up and shower/wash you clean all this off. As I said, people can't tell by looking at me. Maybe I should start at least washing my face every morning. But then there is the argument of drying your face out. I remember reading an interview with Nigella Lawson when she was asked what was her secret to her youthful glow and lovely hair, and she said she doesn't wash her face in the mornings, and washes her hair only once a week.

I do this too. I shower before bed and spend 5 minutes in the bathroom shaving, brushing my teeth, styling my hair, and urinating.

My argument is that you need to shower at the end of the day to get all that gunk off of you.. otherwise you're just sleeping in your own dirt!

45 minute showers? eh.gif

I work out in the evenings. I usually do a warm shower in the evening and a cold one in the morning.

Cold showers are refreshing and really wake me up.

I shower at least twice a day. Once in the morning and then once in the evening after going to the gym. If I can, I'd shower a third time around lunch.

But my showers are all quick, 5 minutes tops.

Amen. My 5 minutes does not include shaving but includes the daily dump.

45 minutes for a shower? Why don't you just take 10 4 minute showers a day?

Shower in the morning to wake up, shower in the evening to clean yourself.

My typical shower is 45 minutes. In winter, it's with warm water, in summer, cold water. I need the first 20 minutes to get fully wet. Then I shampoo, once every 3 days. Then I scrub all over. The last 20 minutes is just to soak. I don't feel clean at all unless I do this.
4 minute shower will barely wash your face.
I have thought about a morning shower, but after my 45 minute, I am usually exhausted and ready for bed or a late night movie or other good stuff. Not ready to face my usually awful day. It's funny because every now and then, in the mornings, I will wash my face, especially during the summer. Almost every time I do this, during my day, someone will ask me "You look pale and sick, are you OK?" or "You look so dehydrated! Late night?".
For those here who shower at night, do you wash your face in the morning?

I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

you forgot to mention the masturbating. seriously, I don't believe your "20 minutes to get wet" line. you are either jackoffing or taking a shit in the shower (which I've heard of)

If this is true, then you clearly have some sort of OCD. Maybe you should consider seeing a psychologist.
