Dress Pants: How tight is too tight?

Just wondering how tight is too tight for dress pants? I am tall and have a slimmer build. Other dress pants I have are size 28 and they are perfect fit and not too tight. I bought one pair recently that was also size 28 but it is quite a bit tighter. It seems to be more tapered instead of just a straight leg. It does seem a bit tight but they fit me perfect in the waist.

 

Just wondering if its possible for pants to be too tight. I wear a dress shirt with the pants but when i sit down they are quite a bit tighter in the thigh area than my other pants...

If it looks like you could tear them when sitting or ducking, then they´re too tight.

"tight" is always too tight. What you should be aiming for is slim, trim, fitted, etc. Ie it shouldn't be too baggy or loose anywhere, but I think you sort of know the point where it becomes "tight" and then it's just a fashion item.

as a guy who wears a 28 waist, I like a thigh of 11 inches, knee of 8, and hem of 7.5, give or take. I find that fitted and modern without being uncomfortable in any way.

For most work environments, your pants would be too tight if co-workers can determine if you had been circumsized or not.

You should be able to gauge for yourself if it's too tight or not. Can you bend in them? Slim fitting should be the right term for it.
