Heel problem in Ferragamos

So I have a rather annoying (although avoidable, I suppose) problem. I recently thrifted a rather nice pair of Salvatore Ferragamo tan,wing tipped loafers. They look and feel in everyway fantastic, except for one slight problem;

They creak in the heel.

And I don't just mean a small creak, I mean they sound like I'm walking on damn logs. My feet literally sound like walking planks when I put them on. I would absolutely love to wear these shoes if it weren't for the loud noises they made. Is there any way I could go about fixing this problem? For a fact, I know it's coming from the heels, mainly because the heels actually move a fraction down when I pull on them (and the noise when walking, of course). It's where the heel meets the shoe (not familiar with the correct term).

Any advice on solving this problem?

Hm, figured I might have to do that. How much do you think it would cost, and what exactly would the cobbler need to do to fix that?

I had a coworker that had that problem and they had to resole his shoes. But I've heard some people say it's unfixable. A cobbler would definitely have a better idea on how to fix it better than me

Sounds like the heel bases are loose.
Bring them to a reputable repair shop and have them re-set.
