Carouzos ... disappointed ... heads up

Bought 2 pairs of Carouzos pants from YOOX during the recent markdown - sample sale and after receiving it I was quite disappointed. Though I only paid $75 + shipping for both, it looks to be not even worth that. They are quite similar in quality to the pants one would find in Macy's - 100% Wool, but poor quality - Made in China - with very thin wool. YOOX did say "WOOL voile", perhaps the "voile" means thin fabric and I should have known.

Considering some of the brands they carry - http://www.carouzos.com/ , I was hoping that their own house brand would be similar to quality in other house brands - Nordstrom, Saks etc. Only saving grace was the cut - it is slim with a nice taper.

I bought a couple of their ties in the same sale and they are very nice and made in Italy.

There is nothing wrong with thin wool. Lots of high quality garments on Yoox (Castangia, Kiton, Belvest, etc...) have the "wool voile" description; it's just more of a late spring/summer/early autumn weight. Sorry about your purchase.

I also bought some of these pants off Yoox a couple months back... and was equally disappointed. Really disappointed. Fortunately, they were still returnable.

Wow ... lots of different experiences. Maybe the issue only extends to Carouzos pants quality. I have a fleeting thought now to keep them as summer wear for Houston. Can anyone recommend a suitable dress pant material or will this thin wool do? I have survived so far with my existing set of wool pants, wool blends, etc., as I stay indoors/air-conditioned environment most of the time.

Buy Incotex/Mabitex/PRL by Corneliani, etc. on the forum.

.

Voile basically means sheer.

It's beyond thin.

Exactly. It sounds like the pants were exactly what they said they were. I don't think I would ever buy something sight unseen if I didn't know what one of the key descriptive terms being used was. I would have looked it up. You can't get what you want based on brand recognition and hoping for the best!

Purchased a Carouzos jacket from YOOX last year and found the quality to be very average. Needless to say the package was heading back the next day.

hey! were you the guy who got the 38/48 single pleat dress pants i was eyeing?!
ya the quality is pretty low, esp that the stuff is made in china. but i bought some for like 30 dollars so i really cant complain. whats really crazy is that in the winter season they seem to want over $200 for the stuff!

i
is it just me, or has yoox pricing really gone thru the roof? i used to take risks at the sample sale bec the prices were crazy lao, at most of these prices its totally not worth the risk.

and at full prices, unless yoox doesnt realize what they were selling, the prices are sometimes more than retail!

I bought some Carouzos pants from yoox for $30 marked down, navy cotton/linen blend and I like them. I also bought a carouzos polo, which is made in Italy, but too short for me (for sale in my sig).

I looked a few months ago on Yoox at the Carouzos jackets and was expecting them to be made in Italy. I'm glad I did not order.

On the other hand, I wanted to order from their website some Loro Piana sweater and PT01 pants on sale. Prices were tempting, but never ordered something from Greece, I eeven hesitate buying online from Italy, shipping and taxes to Switzerland can be a bit high.
Any experience ordering from carouzos.com?
