Why are they doing this? Don't know. Also, note that this came up when they restricted me from revising one listing -- but not others of the same brand, if this was the item I recall [I was doing a blizzard of listings and sales during the holiday season]. No listings were removed.

Dear xxxxx,
Thank you for taking the time to write to eBay regarding the restriction
on your account.
We're unfortunately not able to be more specific at this point as to the
precise types of goods that will be affected by these initiatives. We
want to maintain flexibility to adapt our initiatives to maximize their
effectiveness, and also prevent fraudsters from easily evading them.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Max P.

Dear Ebay:
Which listings is this regarding?
It is hard to know how to respond without this information.
I list authentic items of many brands.
Which listings concern you in particular? Or which brands?
Regards,

Dear xxxxx,
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your selling limit.
If a seller lists a high volume of items of a type that are often
subject to counterfeiting, they may be prevented from listing additional
items or revising current listings of that type for a period of time.
After reviewing your account, it has been determined that the
restriction is appropriate and therefore will stay in place. The
restriction will stay in place indefinitely, unless you wish to appeal,
in which case you will need to write back to us in 6 months time. At
that point we will review your account and a decision will be made
whether to lift the restriction.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Freddy

I am confused.
I got this message when I was trying to revise listings that were
already running. They continued to run. No listings were removed, as far
as I know.
Are some of my listings causing concern to ebay? If so, which ones?
Also, do sellers have a limit to the number of listings they can place
in a week, or a month, or a year?
yours
mack11211

Dear mack11211,
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to the restriction that is on your
account.
In order to maintain a safe trading environment, selling limits are
occasionally placed on accounts. A restriction was placed on your
account to limit you from selling certain items.
Please keep in mind, you are not permitted to sell items on eBay bearing
the name or logo of a company if the product has not been made or
authorized by that company. In addition, the sale of counterfeit items,
unauthorized replicas and unauthorized copies is prohibited by law, and
therefore cannot be listed on eBay. Please note that it is the
seller=E2??s
responsibility to ensure that the items you are listing are authorized
for sale.
This policy also helps protect buyers from purchasing counterfeit or
fraudulent items and helps protect the intellectual property rights of
third parties.
As always, our goal is to keep the eBay marketplace a safe place to buy
and sell. Under our User Agreement, we may remove listings if they
breach one of our stated policies. Further, we may warn or suspend
sellers whose activities breach our policies.
I encourage you to read the information available on our Help pages
about why we may remove items from the eBay site.

Message: Ebay is keeping me from revising my listing. The message says
there is a limit to the number of listings one can start in a 7 day
period. What is this limit? And why does it prevent me from revising a
listing that is already running. Yours, mack11211
