Fall//Winter Boot suggestions

I have started a new job this Fall where I can finally get suited up and show off my wardrobe. As I am taking the train as well as the bus to get to my office, I wanted to prepare for the cold season ahead (from Canada) and get a fashionable pair of boots for the fall and or winter. I'm welcome to any suggestions really, just keep in mind they would most likely be for my commute to work and/or weekends. Nothing too clunky or heavy like a Sorel boot but nothing that is going to give me frostbite!

Cheers guys!

I am actually looking for this myself. I'm quite fond of the Wolverine 1000 Mile Boots in rust, but are still searching.

wollenscke welcome to Styleforum.
Do you have a budget in mind?

Not really. I was probably looking at the $200-600 CAD range... Something nice but nothing too expensive.

To be clear - are you asking for a fashionable looking yet warm commuting boot that you will then change out of once at work or a pair of boots that will also be worn at the office? I'm not quite as far north as you but Chicago winters are no picnic. During the more wintery months I find that it's easier to rotate some pairs of shoes kept at the office and go a bit more utility for the commute and change once I arrive. I've only recently acquired them, so no winter action yet to report on, but as a potential double-duty boot the AE Bayfield in Brown ChomeXcel (and rubber soled) is water-weather resistant and still rather stylish (depending on one's own office setting, of course). Still, when it gets Arctic around here, I'll be eschewing fashion for the commute to maximize comfort/warmth and changing into something appropriate once at the office. When I'm tromping through unshoveled snowy streets and sidewalks nobody is looking at my footwear - and arriving at my destination with feet that are warm and dry is Job 1.

I'd say you're right on par with what I'm looking for. I'll be changing into my dress shoes at the office. So the boots I'm looking for will mainly be used in my commute. I do own a pair of big chunky Sorel's but I am looking for something a little more fashion forward for the less blizzard like days in the Fall and Winter.

No more suggestions? I have discarded the thought of the 1 K's since they were a little to bulky. Anyone got a tip on some sleeker boots?
