I'd like to ask for some recommendations for a look to wear to an upcoming 10yr high school reunion. Ok, that sounds a bit pathetic, but one wants to look successful and hell, it's a good excuse to make an addition to the wardrobe. I'm trying to figure out what to get that looks put together but not stuffily formal and walks the line between stylin' and trying too hard. And obviously whatever I buy needs to be versatile enough to work for more than just one night out!
I'm looking at wearing raw denim jeans, a pair of White's semi-dress in burgundy chromexcel (need to order those). But above the waist I am not so sure.
My first instinct was something along the lines of the Epaulet Weller SC in grey 120s ( http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/the-1047/%27Weller-Sportcoat-Grey-Super/Detail ) but after reading some threads here I think that might be too much 'abandoned suit coat' and should go for something a bit more casual. Now I'm thinking around the lines of the Epaulet camel hair jacket ( http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/the-1208/%27Weller-Sportcoat-Loro-Piana/Detail ) and dress it down with a shirt like ( http://www.epauletshop.com/servlet/the-1214/%27Yarn-Dyed-Brushed-Oxford/Detail )
Cost-wise I have about $800 - $1000 of bonus money coming this month which is going to go towards at least one or two fun items, but I'm not sure what.
I'd love to hear what the guys on the forum here would do with that budget and those sorts of styles. Thanks for your input!
