can anyone suggest  whats the best loafers to buy for about $200

If you wait around the BB peal loafers will go on sale. Great deal for just a bit over 200 (got mine for 230 or so)

You can get some AEs Presidio on ebay or Nordstrom Rack for less than $ 200 if you wait a little. They are not the slickest shoe but they are solid all around.

Define "best"

i.e. best in what context?

BTW I am not playing dumb, I suspect you want to know the highest end brand your $200 well earned dollars can afford, in which case I suggest look at factory outlets / malls and go for pot luck.

Most brands with MSRP $350 or thereabouts can be purchased for around $200 with a little bit of luck.

Search through the forum for shoe brands that come recommended in the $300 - $500 price band, try eBay and see if you get lucky on a bid or BIN w / without offer. I have often seen some quite respectible brands selling for a shade over $200.

A little bit of research and patience will help you go a long way.

Best advice I can give, would like to write a long list of brands, but that would take away your fun of researching (or inhibit your potential for learning).

Best of luck on finding a really nice pair of loafers for the price you desire.
