Purple on purple on purple with check shirt and a self check tie that might as well be considered solid is hardly what I call too busy. I don't see much wrong with all purple, it just lack variety in purple - at the moment it's basically different shades of the same purple.

idk something about all of that purple makes me feel like this is something that some bridezilla forced her husband's groomsmen to wear

An outfit with just one color says either "I don't know what I'm doing, someone dress me please" or "I'm colorblind, forgive the fashion mistake". I agree with the previous advice for a green tie or pocket square to offset the purple.

I'm not sold on the purple checked shirt. I'd go for a light purple shirt, patterned dark tie with a hint of silver, and no pocket square.

I'm sure I'm not alone in understanding this but i will give you a piece of advice, purely constructive criticism. I have a degree in Psychology and extensive knowledge of the eye. How that knowledge comes into play is simply this: Contrast. The only thing that matters to the human brain is contrast. Hue, or color, is something personal to everyone, color plays little part; from here I'm sure ill get some disagreeing remarks. but to test this look at fashion magazine, they are littered with contrasting colors, and tend to come in a monochromatic theme; this can also be seen in home magazines as well: dark floor and a light wall.

I have that exact shirt from express but instead of wearing purple i would wear a black tie. As some have said before with the amount of purple that is in the shirt and tie, and then to turn around and have both a checked weave it is too busy.

I think that the pocket square would be ok if it were matched to the tie. I would go with a solid color and stay away from unique weave patterns.

What i would wear: i would wear that same shirt, but instead of purple i would go with black (i know a little too dark) but i would instead go with a brilliant purple tie and pocket square. To me i feel that there should only be a few things that should "break out". I tend to wear black slacks, gray overcoat and white shirt...then i bring in a bright brilliant green tie or a bright color to draw on that contract and have my focal point be my tie which draws your eyes towards my face.
