I have a dark gray suit with modern slim cut.  I want to get a dress shirt with spread collar.  The shirt is checkered (half inch boxes) with colors of white, lavender, and purple.  What color tie goes best with it?  Pics would be nice.....

Sorry, I meant pics of the tie.  I cant post pics of the shirt because I haven't bought it yet.  I need to know which tie first before I go ahead and purchase it.

I can't find a pic of it online.  It's at Off 5th and the label is red and its either called "Saks Red Label" or "Saks Private Label".

Eh.. The loss of that pocket square would make the look more approvable. ...At least IMHO. Find a darker square.

Will it work? Yes, absolutely -- it is serviceable at the very least.

"Is it perfect," though? See the three previous replies.

(With a purple shirt and tie, consider a contrasting pocket square.)

Solid green tie with that combo.
