Need suggestions on color for 5th suit please.

Hi gang,

I will obtain a 5th suit soon and would like your inputs. Currently I have:
a 2 button suit in medium gray Prince of Wale pattern, a 2 button suit in tan/khaki, a 2 button suit in navy, and a 1 button suit in light gray.

I want to try a double breast suit next, just unsure of the color. Material wise, due to my location, I have no need for tweed and such. I would keep the material fairly light at 8-11 oz.

I'm considering some sort of windowpane pattern in navy or brown.

As mentioned, charcoal grey.

If you want a db suit, avoid going for a too light cloth

Interesting. Any reasons why not to get a cloth that's too light in weight?

I thought about charcoal, but since I already have 2 gray suits, I thought I should try something different.

What are thoughts on pinstripes?

It depends. In which context will you wear it? If it's business, navy pinstripe is the best choice, I would buy it before the staple color charcoal because I think charcoal is only best for the first or second suit for versatility within a limited selection. If it's more casual (even business casual), you can go a little over the top with a windowpane. Brown is okay if it suits your complexion and/or hair color, it's not for every type. Brown can also look a little muddy under artificial light, so wear it only during daytime.

Then there is a seasonal aspect, too. If you have bought only four-season or summer suits until now, perhaps you want a dedicated cold season suit for the 5th buy. A bold dark flannel with chalk stripes can be fun considering that.
