For the Double Monk lovers - Page 2

I have a few pair of Magnanni shoes in my collection and I like them very much. I think they make a good shoe for their price point.

The double monks you bought look great, wear them with pride.

Thanks all.

After putting on some conditioner and a little polish to clean up the in box marks, they look sharp. Wore them yesterday. Aside from a little new shoe stiffness, they were quite comfortable and wear seems like it will be in line with my other shoes.

Very pleased for $200.

Very nice! Any chance of proxying a 10.5 for me
From Last Call?

hmm, I wouldn't mind doing it, but I don't think they had a 10.5 in brown, only black suede. You can check the last call by you.

look good, if they come back in stock at lastcall.com I might have to grab a pair. I see you got a 9.5 from your pics, do they fit true to size (or can you mention some other shoes/sizes you've got for reference)?

also, the black suede is available online in a handful of sizes if that style is to your liking, $164.50 with the current 30% off discount (automatic when you add to cart)

they run a bit big to me. I usually wear a 10d in other brands

Whenever I see Magnanni at Last Call or Nordstrom Rack, the leather looks nice and a good value at that price, but all the lasts I come across seem long and narrow. That doesn't work well for my wide feet, as by having to size up the shoes end up rather clownlike.

the lasts are definitely more fashion forward, which doesn't work for things like wingtips in my opinion. For some reason with the monks it sort of clicked for me, since I don't see double monks as a traditional business shoe anyway. If you have a size 11+, the clownshoe problem is very real.

Hey I appreciate the mention of picking them up if they had them in brown. I actually called Neimans and there are no brown 10.5's in an last call or Neimans stores, only black suede. The rep said you were very lucky to find them!

So, alas, my search for a sleek brown dub monk that won't break the bank continues....
