An honest opinion on these Gucci loafers - Page 2

I have the same ones in sand suede. I think the suede is a cooler look, personally...

Gucci has been making a version of this shoe since the dawn of man. It's not my very favorite sort of shoe, mostly because the heal is so low. But there is no doubt the shape is classic and continental. The 'well healed' lol8[1].gif and leisurely of Europe rocked these profiles for many decades. Don't know if it's very popular any longer - haven't seen it as much recently.

None the less - whether or not they are to everyone's taste - they are a classic in their own right.

As for the color - I do think there is too much constrast from toe to vamp. But they will darken on their own with conditioner and polishing. And once that starts you might be very happy to have started out so light.

I suggest you need to look into vintage Gucci sunglasses from the 1970s to go with these shoes - work the steez on out!

thank you for posting those. seeing them in suede only makes my point stronger about this being a classic shape/shoe.

Indeed, it looks unbalanced.

I expected something far more gaudy from Gucci, but it's a quite minimalist shoe. I like the wholecut, not the antiquing though.

Not really the same thing, but I just bought these yesterday. What do you think?

Technically a Moccasin and the toe is not pointy like the photo makes it out to be.

I have the suede ones also. Don't usually do the gucci, but these are great.

I like them but like Spoo said the heel it's a tad too flat. Hopefully with time they'll acquire a nice patina and the color will be richer
