Size recommendation Alden Indy boot

Hi. I was looking at the Alden Indy boot and was wondering what size you would recommend trying. I have never tried on any pair of Aldens before. I wear a 10b in the Allen Edmonds park ave last. Any suggestions If the Indy boot would fit at all or would it be way too wide. Also any ideas of places where one could try on a pair in wisconsin. Does j crew keep them in their stores ? Thanks for your help

General recommendation is to size down 1/2. But I'd think they'd be way too wide, given that a D width (the only one available?) in an Indy will be wider than the same width size in the AE 5 last.

I just noticed that they do offer a C narrow width on theshoemart.com and the Alden website. I'm guessing that would probably be too wide as well? Are width measurements at all standardized, or is there a chance that this may be sufficiently narrow? Seems my only option to try one would be to order online and then return if it doesn't fit. Thanks for the input!

I'm wondering about your experience if you ended up ordering these. I am also a 10b in allen edmonds and in the market for some indys. i was thinking about the 9.5C. Is this what you ended up buying? How was the fit? THanks.

Which model? Many come in various widths.

Size down 1/2 a size. Unless your feet are very narrow, stay with the D.

^^

If you are a true B width, measured on the Brannock device, do not buy any Alden shoes on the Barrie or Trubalance last that are a D width, they will be way too wide. I'm an A-B width and there is ample room in the B width Barrie lasted shoes that I have. The best advice I can give you is - try on any Aldens' before you buy.
