How to wear a sarong

I am going to an Indonesian (Javanese) wedding tomorrow, and I think I will wear a sarong.

I have a sarong from Sri Lanka made of cloth with a "madras" pattern and I hope that one will do.

Does anyone know if there is a prescribed way to tie a sarong, or will just trying to imitate photos do? The only thing I know is that they are Muslims and quite strict, so my knees have to be covered apparently, so the sarong has to fall to below knee-length.

If I tie it tight, it really shows off my ass but will this be considered weird?

Anyone have any experience with sarongs?

Sarongs basically rule and are the greatest piece of clothing ever made. But really, you made a thread to ask how to wear a towel.
