Best Los Angeles BarBQ

I have a serious hankering.  I need some BBQ for dinner tonight.  I live on the Westside but I don't mind driving to something that's worth it.  I was thinking about trying Baby Blues on Lincoln in Venice.  Good idea?  Any other recs?

Thanks.

I love Baby Blues it is the best BBQ in my opinion.

yeah, i love baby blues. last time i went there it was a little downhill and they raised their prices. still, probably one of my favorite restaurants in LA, especially for the sides (love the mac/cheese, collard greens, creamed spinich and okra) a lot of "purist" types don't seem to like it though, but for the westside, its good.

i'm a real purist about my bbq. for sides, i like johnny rebs' (there are two of them, i believe, one fairly near my house in long beach). for meat, bludso's in compton. i like but have never been wildly enthusiastic about phillips or woody's. if you can find him at a farmers market, big mista's.

I'm addicted to Big Mista. I picked up a pound of brisket from his stand at the Atwater market on Sunday. His pulled pork is also amazing. I'm drooling now thinking about it.

After some research, in my opinion Bludso's is the one to try.

Bludso's couldn't be harder to get to from Santa Monica.  I don't ever see myself driving down there for the BBQ, to be honest.  How can I track down Bigmista?

Drove to Bludso's from Venice last weekend. WELL WORTH THE DRIVE. It is amazing. And Compton is a trip, too. Make sure you order the mac n cheese as it is unlike any other I've ever had.
