Not yet got it when it started getting warm so it's ready.
Want a buzz rickson n-3b.

Spiewak makes a Martexin waxed cotton B-3 parka with a real coyote trim hood. Its available for a steal from Kamaloops. Have I mentioned its made in the USA? Not a Chinese knock-off!

I have a warm zip jacket by Mackage in a wool blend and I'm quite happy with it, but I have it in enough of a rotation that I can't comment on durability (after a few wears it still looks about brand new).

I like them for putting 5-10% cashmere in lots of their jackets -- including mine -- despite a lower price point than comparable brands.

However, I have handled some of their leather jackets at Holt Renfrew and I was not impressed with the feel (same goes for "D&G").

I haven't handled their polyester jackets in person, but I noticed they are putting down padding in some of their wool pieces this winter and I like the results (e.g., Brady and Chad jackets @ mackage.com). I'm not sure if I have it in me to pick up another winter coat I don't need, though.

This is the one I have, from FW10:

Yeah, their prices seem a fair bit lower than comparatives (though they are in no way cheap) so I wasn't sure how they compare for quality

I'm actually glad this thread got started because I just moved from Charlotte, NC to New York, and I haven't had a winter coat for 3 years. Totally clueless on what to look at. Something tells me an unlined Mister Freedom pea coat isn't going to cut it this year.

TOJ fishtail, or veilance insulated shell, or krane emory bomber? Those are the jacket i'ved eyed out for now. Pricewise, the toj is going to be the cheapest, but I'm not sure how warm it would be. Both the veilance and krane i've tried on and seem to be really good winter jackets, so I'm undecided on either.

any notable coat/jacket sales next week in NYC?

will also be in town around New Year's eve, so anything in that regard would also be appreciated.
