I'm brand new here so hopefully I'm putting this in the right place.
I'm searching for my first 3/4 length topcoat or overcoat and it seems like everything that fits the style I'm after is over my budget of ~$500. I like to have a professional "fitted" look and I've always disliked the double breasted peacoats that I see everywhere. After doing some searching I've tracked down some good examples:

I've looked on ebay and found some good looking stuff since I'm not opposed to buying gently used merchandise. I'm also going to check out the classifieds section here to see if something pops up.
I'm 5'11, 175 lbs so it's pretty easy to find my size. Anybody have some good ideas on how to get the highest quality at the lowest price in this category?
