Well we don't really know how straightforward the plan was. I mean is the professor just there to buy the house close to the airport or is he working on something bigger? He seems to be a very smart guy that knows his shit. Plus if that was the only plan, then Brody seems like he is just a fail-safe plan? Because if that initial plan succeeds, he is pretty much useless.

Or maybe that is the whole plan all along? Put the attention to Brodys partner to take suspicion away from him and give him access with the VP.

I guess we might find out in season 2 or it could just be one of those "open to your own interpretation" kind of thing?

He (or most likely she) had some sort of back-office role there with the financing of the operations - he is the one who picked up the money from the jewelry store. I can't imagine he bought the house with bank notes so that was probably for other operational expenses.

plus, the professor was kind of a dupe in the plot. remember? it was his american-born wife who was the real instigator. he kept getting surprised and freaked out and she kept apologizing for having gotten them into it.

No, i understand that...and his suicide tape where he says what he's doing is for his country and he's a marine, yadda yadda. That sort of put the whole ordeal into perspective. I guess I was just getting mad at the guy for continuing to push through with this plan when his own family is getting screwed over so badly. Ultimately it WAS the daughter who pulled him back, but those scenes where he's promising the son that he'll see his next karate match and insisting with the daughter that everything is going to be OK...it's just kind of a fucked up thing to do. I mean, you love your country more than your family?? i GUESS.

Yeah...I guess it makes sense that Brody only knew part of the puzzle and not how he'd get past security and all that.

It isn't really far fetch. It happens in movies and TV shows all the time, happens in real life too as mentioned before with suicide bombers.

Well Dexters season 7 is supposed to premiere on Sept 30 so it's a good guess that Homeland will start season 2 on the same day.

Lets get some traction over here in time for the new season.
