I love the style of theses Express suits, but....

I can't Imagine these suits are seen in a good light on this forum, but I really do like the style. My question is, what style is this? it seems to be a much more modern cut than the, excuse the expression, "old man suits" I see many of the posters wearing on this forum. Can anyone shed a little light on this style? Thank you

It's just a slim cut, as is the fashion these days.

I would encourage you to lurk more and utilize the search feature. Specific areas of concern are the already dated mini lapels and the quality of construction. Some of these suits contain more polyester than actual wool, and some even contain spandex. WTF?

You will find affordable alternatives if you dig a little deeper.

Ployester is the ultimate NO. This is good advice here, lurk and learn.

Why even care if he really likes suits that look like that though? Since they will look even more dated a year from now, there's no reason to spend any significant money on something that looks like that imho.

There are better alternatives, but there are some Express suits that are just fine (and, 100% wool). If you like it, and use some of there huge discounts that seem to be available every other nanosecond, go for it.

I have no shame in admitting that today im wearing an express glenplaid sportcoat with slim lapels. peepwall[1].gif it fits spot on. picked it up for 70 bucks...Its great to have a decent fitting coat you dont give a fuck about that can take a spill of whisky or smell like stale cigarette smoke. I also have a whipchord suit from them that i wear in the summer...fits decent, and the entire suit cost less than a C note. I wear it maybe 2 or 3 times a season. has held up well, and lived up to my expectations....its a $100 suit, doesnt fit or wear like my isaia, ...what the f*ck do you expect?

Dude, you are so busted!!!!!

10 laps around the style forum gym, 50 push ups, and you're on restriction for the next two weeks. Could you please try harder not to be such a disspointment to me?

Seriously, I see some real value in a suit that can be used to mop up the bar floor after a long night. I bet it would make a good 'curb pillow' as well. Hopefully it's all polyester so you can just shake it out the next morning and roll on into work in it without wrinkles. Have you just invented the 'One Garment'?????

hahahahaha. good one G. I like wearing jackets, and the express will go places the isaia, versace, etc will never see. wink.gif It will be in the garbage or at goodwill next year, and replaced with another probably. Ill always have a couple in the closet.

Poor Isaia and Versace............they have to do all the heavy lifting while the 'One Garment' is out having fun with Tom Ford's whores.

Sometimes life is just to unjust to bear.

From my experience Express is not the way to go. Sure, they may have some wool suits but i just found the material to be too rough a d for some reason most of their suits have a very shiny finish which makes them cheap looking. There are better alternatives for the price range but each nody is different and these might fit better on you. If you can get one without the need to tailor then it can be worth it.

At least go Brooks Brothers 1818, their milano collection, if you're into the modern, slim fitting, look.
