$60/hr and thats supposedly a deal, otherwise, it is $90/hr!

I'd imagine a lot of it is voice coaching for actors. Realistically it is about being a bit over the top when imitating as mentioned before. Obviously phone centers in India manage to teach their people how to do it relatively quickly, so it shouldn't be an impossibility.

But if you are going to bother to change your accent anyway, might as well pick a posh British one since that will carry further in the US.

My Australian friends can all do really entertaining American accents, I imagine a lot of British people can too, I've heard some good ones. I think it's a matter of really getting into character, trying to be a cowboy or something. Imagine you are Johnny Dakota on a CB radio, on some sort of ATF agent in Texas.

Learn proper use of slang and get comfortable with it. Don't use British terms like loo or trolly (assuming you first learned English in the British tradition). Don't be afraid of a bit of mumbling and grunting (seriously).
