Parachoc Super Rando from Richard Pontvert's famed Paraboot company. It comes with the famous red laces. Available from France through Internet shop e-Killibre Outillage. It can be dispatched to USA within two weeks via the French La Poste's Collissimo tracking service.

I swear those are dead ringers for the Parachoc Super Touring boots that I have! Are the Norwegian stitches on those sealed with a water-proof resin? Those better not be Galibier Khumbru soles! The red lacing is uncanny, to say the least!

Are the RW 8146 enough for a Chicago winter? I have the Wolverine Addisons and RW GTs, but I don't expect to have any traction with either. I just received a pair of Danner Mountain Lights in the mail, but I'm not sure how i feel about the look of them. I'm looking for traction and some degree of water resistance.

I just picked up a pair of these. Not diemme quality by any stretch of imagination, but not bad especially as I picked them up new for under £30 (Dr Marten Holt - also available in Black)...

350

Another cheap option if you're happy with beater quality is Wolverine either Tyrol or Branson

as multiple people has said multiple times itt:

those boots (and many others) will be perfectly fine for day to day wear

for shoveling and walking around in serious storms, you probably need real winter boots

people overestimate what they need on a daily basis and underestimate what they need in real winter conditions. I've never seen a boot ideal for both

Thank you

Alden/Tricker's/Alfred Sargent on a commando sole? Just make sure to wipe them down when they get all salty

The Bestard Crossover is a low boot and its grippy soles ought to keep you from falling down icy terrain and metal steps.
