I'm not saying I was surprised, but it still is a huge event for the show. I don't know how they're going to handle the dynamic now between the two of them.

Because Deb said she was going to meet Dexter there to comb over evidence and what not. What kind of person, whose goal is to never get caught, would set up a kill room at a CRIME SCENE?
I get it was done for symbolism but honestly it just showed how shitty the writing has gotten for this show. Terrible terrible season.

She never said she was going to meet with him there. She actually just asked him to do a final evidence sweep so "we can clear it", which I assume means so the department can remove it from some list.
She went there after talking with her psychiatrist because she needed to bring up the fact that she's in love with him, to him. She knew where he'd be because she asked him to go there.

I don't think it was the best season, but definitely not the worst. I enjoyed it being a bit more Deb-centric, I also enjoyed the role of faith/religion.

What I did not think was necessary was his brother's appearance and going back to find the trinity killer's son. Mos Def's role was great imo, but it could have had more impact to the story if they made it last longer and made it more meaningful.

Everyone compares every season to season 1, and no season can top that.

+1 on the episode with trinity's son being unnecessary.

Also the whole Geller being dead the whole time threw me off. I'm too lazy to re-download past episodes but I thought when Dexter and Travis were outside the university trying to save the atheist Dexter saw Geller walking?

And another thing, more Masuka is never a bad thing.

I think you're right on that part about seeing Geller, I felt like they didn't spend enough time tracing his tracks to make sure he was a figment of Travis' imagination

Nope. Travis 'saw' Geller and that's when they went into the building.

Masuka seemed a bit too tame this season, especially in the second half after the blonde intern left.

I actually liked Deb a LOT more this season than any other, Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
even with the odd "I'm in love with my non-biological brother" feelings coming to the surface.

The show has gotten all too tired. The writing has become super weak. Nice phony drama having Deb show up at the scene the instant he puts the knife in. Yep. That could happen.

I actually really enjoyed this season... The trinity's son bit was lame, but the rest was very enjoyable.

Looking forward to seasons 7 & 8.
