Otherwise, not really sure what you'd do with it. I have a cream off-white linen peak lapel sport coat I wear during summers but couldn't quite picture the equivalent with a shawl collar outside of a black tie event.

 

 Yeah, I have the same and everyone was really impressed when I wore it out to a club wearing a black bow tie. One gal even thought I was wearing a tuxedo. (LOL) I had to tell her it was just a sport coat with a bow tie.

Not sure I'd ever wear mine with a black bow tie (unless I get a real white dinner jacket which will probably call for a shawl collar). More power to you. The pink shirt and blue tie combination (or vice versa) works well too with a cream linen sport coat in my experience.
