Is the frequency of the polishing/waxing the shoes related to frequency of use? Can I leave the shoes untouched after a treatment or should I do something with them even if they stay unused for 3-4 months? What is the recommendation on that?
Thanks
I sparingly apply leather conditioner to my unused shoes at least once every 3-4 months to maintain leather elasticity, etc.
Some leathers are more thirsty than others. I also do the same with my belts, bags and briefcases.
When the leather is in active use, I'll condition once per month, expecially in colder, drier seasons.
Polishing is only necessary when the shoes need it, maybe once per 10 wearings or so, depending on if they need it or not.
