I paniced since they came in a bit large, but workable with a tounge pad and thicker socks..

Recent eBay arrival. Cheapest pair of shoes I've ever bought. These were unmarked shell, vintage Florsheim in super nice shape. The black PTB is not a style I seek out but it's always fun to find vintage Florsheim in my favored E width in mint shape.

I think I'll take them to a cobbler to create natural edges to casual them down

My daughter also enjoys them

Very nice find. Who doesn't need some black shell PTB when they are the right price?

Hey guys,
Some quick assistance needed. My buddy found these at a nice thrift shop and is saying they are shell. Can someone confirm? Can't quite tell on the wrinkling as they're vintage.... thanks!

not shell.

+1. Probably polished cobbler. We can say more if he gives you the brand and a picture of the size and style label on the inside.

Does Carmina ever go on sale?

I bought them as "burgundy," but they're lighter than most color 8 I've seen. I believe Vass uses Horween, but they will use vendor-sourced leather as well.

Sort of - their "outlet" has a couple shell options marked down to $675, but they don't come with shoe trees, so it ends up a wash for US buyers.

If you're used to looking at Alden #8, most other #8 will look light

Guys, I got these from the Allen Edmonds Shoe Bank.  There is a gouge or imperfection on the shoes.  What do you think?  Is this a return or a keeper?  Can this be fixed?
