Lots of great RRL boots were made by Julian and all the pairs I handled were of nice quality.

Just because random internet posts do not mention them doesn't mean they are bad nor does purchasing instantly mean it's a big mistake. Plenty of small makers are no longer considered good as there is not enough group think to support a purchase?

And sure there's been bad stuff said about Julian (like Brett Viberg hinting work was partially outsourced to Mexico) but if you like the boots and you are getting exactly what you want then why not? Carmina doesn't make your style, single C&J mto is maybe 1200 and again not really a work boot style neither.

Good points, however everything i said would tell me that I would be less than convinced or certain. So for me I would go elsewhere where I would be more certain that I was getting a good thing.

Actually I don't think I could go with anything shelf-made anymore. The look I want is just too specific.

(Something like this:

If you have seen this boot anywhere, please let me know)

The above pattern looks very similar to the Wolverine 721 (limted run) boots in color 8 shell cordovan (http://wingtip.com/product/wolverine/limited-edition-721ltd-boot/29990). They are not made anymore afaik, but you might find some old stock somewhere such as the 'bay or grailed. Btw they were made by AE for wolverine and cost about 750 at wingtip when they were in stock

Right, and I do like the look of the 721 100miles. But those are not an option as I'm looking for a women's 5ish size boot.

Thank you Drees and Stevent for your input. I'll give my decision some more thought and time.

Those cordovan colors are amazing. How much lighter was the natural when you got it? Those really glow!

Yes Ma'am,

These are about 6 months old and have about a dozen wears on them.

They have indeed darkend quite a bit.

Thanks.

Why not try an EG or similar womens boot?

Thank you, I'll send a request. I'm just not familiar enough with the serious men's boot makers to know which ones might have women's or small men's models in their repertoire.

You may want to check with Leffot. I'm sure Steven or Paul will be able to answer your questions. Good luck.
