Women who are judgmental about men's style - Page 2

As they say - there's no accounting for taste. Some women's opinion I value, some I don't.

In general, I find women are able to identify when a man looks good or does not look good, or if a man is a good dresser versus a poor dresser. But when it comes to deconstructing why, they're not able to answer - they focus on immediate things like "his tie" or "his shoes."

I also find that women are much more focused on cut than fit, materials or construction. They also value trends too much - I know more than one woman that sees contrasting stitch on a lapel's button hole as the mark of a "nice suit."

Having said all that, when a woman critiques your clothes, more often than not it is because they like you and there's a certain level of playfulness and flirtation involved. I put too much thought (and money) into my clothes to let it affect how I dress, and I usually just respond with a smirk and a nod.

Hmm, mostly so, although women seem to notice, and be impressed by, fabric softness. Also, women focus much on color, as opposed to color/situational appropriateness.

For the most part, women either complement me or are indifferent. I have had a few women who made a negative comment, but one did so because she had fun seeing how I reacted.

Some like it soft, some like it hard. 1/2 dozen to one, 6 to the other as they say.
