Shoe brands that come in narrow sizes

Thread Starter

Can anyone suggest any shoe brands other than Allen Edmonds or Alden that come in narrow widths (like A and B)?

I have tried Ferragamo and at least for me found their narrow shoes to be uncomfortable.

Also, I am looking for a stylish more contemporary shoe model appropriate to wear with jeans or cords that would be appropriate to wear out on the town so to speak.

Most of the more casual styles offered by Allen Edmonds seem to be more conservative and targeted to an older customer.

I am in my mid 30s and looking for something contemporary but not too fashion forward.

Any recommendations on brands and models that come in narrow widths?

Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid you're largely out of luck (I'm a B width). We live in a land of one-width fits all.

As you've found, some Italian brands run typically a bit narrow depending on the last.

largely lots of bad shoes here but take a look and perhaps something is more to your liking: http://www.zappos.com/narrow-shoes

Same issue here.

C&J still make a small selection in a UK "C" (= US A or B) width.

JM Weston do a smallish range of narrow fittings.

Until about 10 years ago, EG produced narrrows regularly, but only now as special order. You might in theory turn up a NOS pair - assuming I haven't beaten you to them.

Until about 2 years ago, Church produced UK D and C widths as stock. Scouring their retailers may throw up some NOS.

C&J make most of their shoes in a E width( a US C) They do have a couple of models made in a UK D (US B) and even a UK A (AA)

Peal which is owned by Brooks Bros. makes their own shoes buy most are either contracted out or just models from UK shoe companies with the Peal label put in. But the good thing is that many models are made in a variety of widths when made for the Peal label even if let's say C&J just carried them in  one width. btw, C&J probably has the narrow lasts at the factory and you could order them made. It's just not worth it for them to made so many widths like AE does because it is a much larger co. selling a lot more shoes.

I've also found recently that Cole Haan must be making shoes narrower because I'm a B and they seem to  fit.

Churches also had narrower widths when sold on the US market. You can check that but the shoes are expensive.
