Let this be a warning to the lurkers... before you create an account. Didnt expect to drop $600 on a pair of boots this morning, but there you go. That's life with SF.

Yeah, I have the same problem...

Excellent point. This site has cost me about $3k in 6 weeks.

Also, it is populated with enablers. When I PM people with my standard, "How are you liking your. . . " I have yet to be dissuaded from pulling the trigger.

OP: if someone wants to be an "enabler" and pm me a code to get the discount i'd be much obliged:D

EDIT: RL CA is the bomb.

I wear a 12C in the Barrie, would I be able to squeeze into a 12D in the Marlow wingtip? I know a 13D will be too big for sure....but there's no 12.5 so I might be screwed either way. Maybe I will just bite the bullet with the 12's and I can return them if they don't fit. And how do you get the 40 + 15? Can I just call any RL store and ask for it?

Hope it works out. For others with the same question, my PTBs showed up today, and FWIW, here's a side-by-side comparison of it with the same size 11.5 Alden Barrie PTBs (I plan on selling these, BTW). Not sure how helpful a photo is, but I think you can probably see that it's a bit shorter and narrower (particularly in the heel).

The Darlton/Marlow looks so much better. I'm sure it fits a human shaped foot better too.

They need to make a boot version of those plain toe marlows.

This pic illustrates exactly why I bought the Lindrick, love the way its framed in the ankle, that narrower curve translates very well into a nice line when worn. Notice how the other 2 are boxier thru the lace area. You can see the result with the shoe on the right very well here:

I'm liking those black aldens. Are they single or double soled? The jcrew description says single sole, but your's look to be double soled.

Help! I went in and tried on a pair of Marlows in 11D, and I think they might work. I normally take an 11 EEE: anywhere between 10.5-11.5, but almost invariably a EEE width for US-made shoes or a G fitting for English shoes.

The thing is, the Marlows were not nearly as tight as I would have expected and were almost doable. I would want to stretch them out a little bit in a couple places, but nothing too major. And a pair of English-made cordovan shoes for $400 ain't bad.

If I buy the Marlows will I be making a huge mistake?

I find they run a bit wider than most US sizes although I can't really speak for EEE. I usually wear a 10E in Allen Edmonds and my Marlows are 10D. Just for reference the soles of my AE Park Aves (5 last) in 10E measure 12 5/8" x 4 3/8" and my 10D Marlows are 12 1/2" x 4 1/2" so the Marlows are slightly wider than an AE E width even though they are marked a D width. I'm not sure if that will fit a EEE but I find they fit a E without any problems.
