^ what were your impressions? odd looking shoe but I like it. RL make a similar loafer without the kiltie. Love the stitching on the toe.

If you pull at the tongue to get into the shoe, it will break.

me. very first time. has happened to both my pairs of C&J boots, 4 boots total. I honestly thought they were there as factory decoration or something, like the sleeve tag on suits.

Eh, mine broke almost immediately on both boots and I haven't missed them. The tongue stays in place (for me) just fine. I'm happier without them being in the way as I get the boots on and off.

In all seriousness, I think they are just there to be broken and make the shoes non-returnable. If C&J were serious holding the tongue in place I think they would use something more than this flimsy little stitch to do so.

They do seem like the Marlow tassel with a kiltie. They seem to be on a narrower last though.
Definitely would have kept had they fit.
