I am curious if the Marlow and the Lindrick are different enough to warrant buying both. I want a boot and wingtip shoe so I was going to go with the Marlow and an Alden plaza lasted burgundy wingtip boot. I figured in that case the makers are different and the colors are different. As far as I can tell the Marlow and Lindrick look pretty similar - color, last, brand. These would be my first cordovan purchases and I don't plan on getting many more shoes after this (I own 3 pairs so far). What are your guys' thoughts?
You could always get the Marlow and then get the BB Peal & Co (Crockett and Jones) Captoe Boot.

I have both and I'll say that while there is enough stylistic overlap that the average person seeing you won't be able to tell the difference (especially when standing since there isn't any real discernable difference) they still play very different roles for me. The shoes wear cooler and get more use during the summer while the boots wear warmer and see more use during the winter. Also, since I have a serious boot fetish but still wanted a shoe that I could occasionally use as a more casual option, I felt the need to have both.

I think the bottom line is you can cover your "very nice, shell shoe" bases with just either, but if you're fortunate enough to get both you'll probably be glad you did. Even if the rest of the world can't really tell.

if you alternated between the wingtip and the lindrick the rest of your life, most would think you only own just a single pair of shoes. the difference's are most appreciated over time when the shell takes on a personality of its own. although both are on the same last, the lindrick and wingtip fit differently and thus age and crease uniquely. itll take a hundred of wears before you would really appreciate the differences. I just saw the Lindricks on RL. I wear size 11's in my RL wingtips and PTB's, will these work? Hurry with a response please. Shell fever is burning! Thanks.

So... did the fever release it's grip or are you the proud new owner of the Lindrick?

The Harlech is amazing. I had the BB version, but the last is too narrow for me. Spectacular boot in person. Not sure if I prefer the brown of the Harlech or the burgundy of the BB, though.
I agree and it is hard to choose between the Burgundy and the brown. The Harlech in Black in also very nice

I wanted the Lindricks so bad that ...(fill in the blank). My GF and I are taking a trip this weekend, so the shell cordovan hunting boots will have to wait. She's taking me to see the new "Star Trek" as a consolation. She pays for the movie and I pay for the trip. It's a great deal for who?
