I guess the Lindrick is not available any more? I can't find it on their site.

This has happened before.

They sell them out during one of their sales, then there is a period before they get them back in stock.

Understand, and good luck.

Keep in mind these are on the same Last as the Lindrick Boot, and if the 325 works for you on the Lindrick then it should work for you on the Marlow Wingtip.

I got mine now, and if they go on sale during the Private sale I'll just return them and get them for the better price if they still have my size.

Thanks! I use the "mac" method only. And, on these C&J shells, there's LOTS of polish, so it will take a while. Damp rag, lots of brushing.

I've found that too and I can't get the same glow that you have on yours. Do you do anything to take all the polish off first or does the damp rag and lots of brushing take care of that?

There's a similar discussion going on in the AE thread- Cold Iron indicates that he likes to use Renovateur to start the process on a new pair of shells and has even used Renomat. He has good results.

I personally just stick with a damp paper towel and a horsehair brush. On a new pair of shoes (especially AE or C&J shells) I do some very light rubbing with a damp paper towel, then hit them with the brush for about 10 minutes each shoe. On the AEs, the damp cloth will actually haze up the polish / cream / whatever they use at the factory, and make it easier to see when you're getting down to the shell. The C&J / RL Marlows seem to shine up well, but will "spew" during each wearing for a long time compared to other shells.

Then, I wear them around the house for about an hour. After that, I repeat the cloth /brush routine. Then, they're ready for their first real wear. After that wear and most future wears, I do the damp paper towel, followed by brushing. The amount of time I brush depends on how much they need. As the shoe ages, it spews less and needs less brushing. If I'm busy or lazy, I'll wait to do the towel & brush routine until the end of the week or 2, and do them all at once.

Thanks for the compliments, by the way.

They are well deserved. Thanks for the information - I'm comfortable with raising a shine on calf but still learning how to get the 'Mac' finish with shell.

Unless my Marlows were mis-labeled or something, I don't know how anyone could wear the same size in a Barrie LWB and the Marlow. This picture shoes the Alden 975 8.5D on the left, Marlow 8.5D on the right. The Marlow is smaller for sure, so I can't fathom how it would be possible for both to fit well in the same size:
For comparison's sake, my Marlow wingtips in 8.5D compared to my Allen Edmonds Niles (8 Last) in 9D.
