I noticed price increases on several other sale items at the same time that I got their Winter Sale email. The sale that ended a few days ago was 20% (I think) off all sales items; the current sale is 30% off on select items. So it essentially means that they've raised prices on a bunch of stuff.

As a public service announcement, I'm posting here the difference in fit between the Marlow penny and tassel loafers. It turns out it's true that you should size down half a size from the penny to the tassel, but beware to all with non-narrow feet that the last on the tassel loafer is significantly narrower that that on the penny. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words:
In these photos, the penny is size 10D and tassel is 9.5D. Notice that length-wise they're about the same.
With that, if you're a size 10D in the Marlow penny, expect to see a pair of 9.5D tassels in the B&S soon.

they look almost identicalThey're not both Cordovan, but they are both C&J Lindricks.

They do, but at the time I needed some black boots, and they were on sale for less than half the normal price.
Not that much different than some people getting different shell colors of Alden boots or John Lobb monks.
That's what I figured anyway.
