Crockett & Jones for Ralph Lauren Cordovan (Marlow, Darlton, Gifford, Garran, Lindrick, McCallum,... - Page 30

Does anyone have experience adding flush metal taps (like the ones B Nelson does) to any of their Marlow/Darlton shoes?

I was thinking of doing it on my wings...maybe even on some of my loafers also.

Another voice in the fray...

11 Marlow Wingtip - Fits like a glove (Prompted me to get this Peal from BB also on the same 325 last... but needed more break-in). I wear 11 D in the Barrie.

11 Marlow Penny - Fits great, a tiny bit longer than 11D Alden 986 LHS in same size, not as snug as LHS on my instep.

Just to summarize my sizing

I wear either 10D or 9.5E in the Barrie Last

Marlow wingtip 10D fits like a glove.

Marlow tassel loafer 10.5D fits a bit long, but 10D fit very tight on the toe box when I tried them on in store. Looking back, if I got the 10D and simply broken it in more, I may have been fine.

Someone own both C&J Pembroke and Darlton Wingtip or C&J Boston and Darlton Penny to compare the size, UK vs US?

I don't understand if a UK 8.5 of C&J is identical to a US 9 of corresponding RL models (as reported on the box).

Thanks

Well, I gave up truing to find a Lindrick in 11.5. I have two different stores "looking" for me. Who knows, a pair may still show up.

Meanwhile, I decided to give Alden a second chance. I purchased some cordovan shoes from them once and ended up returning them as they were just too ugly. I have never tried their boots though so I figured that it would not hurt to try a pair of boots.

So, I ordered a pair of the Alden Indy Cordovan in Cigar. They will probably make a better winter boot anyway:

If anyone has a pair of Lindricks in 11.5 that they were going to return, I'll take them off your hands.

Yeah you do, you definitely do. PTB is my favorite of the bunch. Great shoes, I think I can wear them with suits too, they are sleek enough.

I LOL'ed laugh.gif

PTBs to me are very rustic, very country. I much prefer a G&G/Corthay aesthetic. You've seen my shoes. But I love me, teh shell.

IMO, you would benefit greatly moving to a more relaxed aesthetic, both in the cut of your jackets and the sleekness of your shoes.

After wearing my 11.5s today, you will need to pry them off my cold, dead feet.
