Day 2 of the Marlow wingtip break-in process went well.

Corkbed is starting to take shape.

It's really not that narrow of a last. I'd normally take a G width, but I'm only experiencing minor discomfort in the little toe area.

My advice to prospective buyers: SIZE DOWN 1/2 SIZE! Your feet will thank you in the long run.

^^^ jrd617, my Marlow wingtips came covered with so much waxy gunk that I could scratch out my name with my finger on them. I had to maniacally buff them as if I was Heath Ledgerin playing the Joker in Batman. Once you buff that crap off they get a really cool shine.

It really just depends how wide your feet are.

I wear a TTS in this shoe and they fit just fine.

its 50/50 on the size up or down question however one thing is certain: tts will crease more

So what's people's opinion on CJ's plain toe blucher vs. Alden plain toe blucher in #8 (in barrie, not the last I really want), I know it's a bit apple vs. orange, but close enough. I am leaning more towards CJ, but I can get worn Alden for reasonable price, so... I know I should never buy something because it's cheap, but certainly tempting...

True.  I went TTS due to my foot width.  Happy I did, as they fit well.

I did TTS and it's fine for me. I wear them with more casual/thicker socks though.

This = C&J/RL

Also, for those that have the shell penny loafers, have you noticed that the inside of the toe has a linen lining? Just noticed this on a pair of my C&J (not RL though) shell loafers. I wonder if this is a design this or specific to this pair....

I own the C&J and it's on the 341 last. Sleeker toe line and better built, also more $. The C & J Burgandy is beautiful, has more red in it and doesn't look spray painted, you see the cordovan better. Also, they use a wooden shank in their shoes instead of a steal shank, hence more comfortable walking shoe. Be patient and find them on sale for the same price as an Alden. My 2cents.. I guess you can tell I like the C&J line on just about everything they build.
