I would go with ½ size bigger one and wear insole. They are like iron. If tight around the pinky they will be real pain to wear. This last is stuffed. Loose around ankle and narrow around the toe area.

After trying them on again, I think you're right. I was trying them on with relatively thin socks as well. Since these will generally be worn in the fall/winter I'd go with a slightly thicker wool sock anyway. I do a lot of walking so too small would not be too fun.

rezzor, I think your onto the right track as far as the fit of the PTB's goes. I assume these are shoes you intend to have for a long time. It's been my experience with double-leather soled dress shoes that it takes awhile, especially with shell, for them to mold to your foot. If your feet are like most people they will swell considerably after a long day on them or after a big meal. I personally hate shoes that feel to tight. The Marlow PTB's are very nice shoes. I hope you end up liking yours as much as I do mine.

If it's causing pain I agree that either the bigger size should be kept or the shoes be returned. If it is just snug I would keep the smaller size.

Thanks for the advice guys. You're right about the swelling, tried them after work and the smaller ones were way too tight and almost too short. I put in a thin leather Pedag insole and it feels fine - even the larger ones are snug, only a tiny bit long.

^ rezzor, glad to hear your feeling more confident about the PTB's fit. Post some pics when you get a chance.

So what is the sizing consensus for the Wingtips? TTS or half size down?
I measure an 8 on bannock device and wear the following in Alden: 7.5D Barrie/Trubalance & 8D Aberdeen.
Should I go 7.5 or 8?

^ the consensus is 325 is difficult to size. The only advice I can offer is that if you have a narrow foot, size down half. Tts is wide. Flip a coin if your foot is normal width

I measure an 11.5D on the brannock device. My Barrie size is an 11D. Because I had sizing concerns I ordered both an 11 and an 11.5. The 11D worked out great. I'm wearing an 11 in both the Marlow wingtip and PTB. I say go for the 7.5. If you've got to exchange them it's no biggie.

Thx for the advice. 7.5 it is.

Id order both and send back one. In my case, the larger one felt slightly big like i could go down but the smaller one was slightly too small. It was nice to be able to try on back to back. You only loose $5 when you return a pair.

Which one did you wind up with?
The larger (8.5) which is the same size as my ae last 5. The smaller was too tight on the toes (both sides but more so on the pinkie). On the scale my foot measures slightly longer than 8.5 but not quite 9.
