Are your 5 last shoes TTS or did you size down from TTS? I took my Marlow Wingtips half size down from TTS, but wear my 5 last AEs TTS.

I wear AE 5 last TTS. I am between 11.5 and 12 on brannock, and since the AE 5 last is long, the 11.5D works well.

Ask for an exchange if possible.
Already packaged them up and are on their way back.

I have decided that those fine wrinkles in the vamp are heinous and I am sending them for another pair. For that much for shoes, I expect perfection.

I have 3 pair of shells (AE stand, Alden LWB, Alden Indy) and none of them have ever made such a hideous fine crease such as these.

Wise decision on the exchange ... let us know how the next pair works out.

Will do. I have no idea how long it will take. I am sending them back via USPS parcel return service using the pre-paid label they came with and with a form filled out in the box.

I tend ot agree with Alex. I've had this happen to a couple of shell footwear, one of which are Alden LWB and I do not have this issue with the other ones in the same size. My observation of the leather is that it appears thinner than my other ones that crease "normally" and could just be the way it was clicked. Honestly it only bad when creased but is more subtle when they are relaxed.

Definitely let us know what RL says about the return.

Yeah on my alden color 4 wingtips I got crazy creasing on side panel where the shell was a bit thin. Seen it on most other pairs as well for the same shoe

Looks very nice, but what are the scratches on the left one? Also, how come I cannot find these on their website? Are they only available in store or something?

why did you go with blue laces?

Sounds like you sized down a bit then. I think it might be good for you to try the 11 in the Marlows or perhaps the Marlows are just not the right shoe for you.

Thanks Mediahound. They're brand new shoes with a lot of wax on them. The scratches are from the laces while Mac'n them around the house. They'll brush right out. You've got to call an RL store to get them. I got these from the RL mansion store on Madison ave. in NYC. Ask for Darrin in shoes. Tell him Bruce in MPLS referred you, he'll hook you up.

The blue laces accent the marcoliani argyle socks. My girlfriend digs them too. Colored laces are a cheap way to freshen-up your wardrobe.

BeSpiffington: Are you experiencing the same fit as with the wngtips? I hope to get a pair if the next sale incudes them AND has a kicker! biggrin.gif
