Sorry for highjacking the thread. Is this Peal & Co made by C&J too? Is the Boston, the Marlow and this the same shoe?

Give - In - Style is this week at 25% off. The Pre-Sale (formerly Private Sale) will be end of this month. The Pre-Sale is the sale with the discount plus kicker (which has ranged in the past between 30 and 40 percent plus 15 percent kicker). As for deciding when to buy, its a crap shoot. If your size sells out during this sale, you are out of luck for the pre sale unless you call a store.

They are beautiful shoes, but I was disappointed in their staff. None of them knew who made the shoes "Made in England" and finally one of them came up with Edward Green. Even after I told them that they were Crocket and Jones.

Just out of curiosity, if you knew who made them, why test the staff? Were you disappointed in their service?

A couple of years ago I was at an RL Store and saw the Sanderson (LWB) for he first time.  I was unaware of who made them so I asked.  After some discussion between several SA's and the store manager, they insisted that it was made at the RL factory in the US.  After some digging I found out AE makes them.  I agree with Alcibiades that you can't expect the SA's to know everything about all RL products, but they shouldn't make stuff up either.

I spoke with an SA at an RL store yesterday and he said they were told the Cordovan shoes would not be included in the upcoming private sale. By the way I had told him that I had purchased the Marlow the other day so the information was not provided based upon the pretext that he had hoped I was going to buy a pair.

Its funny, it seems to happen twice a year. Some people say they won't be included. Some people say they will be included. We go to the site on day of pre-sale and find some people were misinformed. I'm glad I jumped on them last spring. I opened the site the morning the sale started, they were included so I took advantage.

He could be wrong, but I figured I would share anyway.

I didn't mean for that to be taken in a negative way, sorry. I was simply recounting my experiences. Sorry for the confusion.

No worries, I didn't take it in any negative way. In fact you may actually be right, I just figured I would post what I had heard.

Patrick,

I was actually hoping to ask some questions as I know little about Crockett and Jones or Ralph Lauren shoes. Anyone know if you can have C&J resole the RL shoes?

Thanks!

Does anyone know if I could still get the Lindrick boot? Really disappointed I missed out.

Someone above said that they sometimes go off the site and then when they come back in, they come back to the website.

In the past these have sold out during one of RL sales only to reappear later when they are restocked. In the meantime you can either wait or keep your eye on eBay and BS listings on this Forum.

The RL SA I spoke with this weekend also believes they will more than like reappear on the RL website when they are restocked.

Good question. What do we do when the soles wear down? Can any cobbler re-sole them?

I believe C&J are happy to resole them if you're willing to send them to the UK. That said, they're just standard goodyear-welted shoes, so somewhere like B.Nelson in the states can take care of them just as well.

Good to know. They don't need a special last or anything?
