Why do ghillies often have that style of punches?
They look vaguely American SW style to me.

i think it's because ghillies and thistles are both associated with things scottish. i believe i've heard that broguing pattern referred to as a thistle pattern.

Awesome, my favorite shoe in this line period!

^^ Thanks!  I don't think I really have a favorite, it depends on the mood I'm in and the rest of the ensemble.  I agree that the PTBs are very, very nice.  Today: the tassels.

Lindricks are $899 for shell, $799 for calf right now.  Save another 10% with BZR1829

My new Lindricks are supposed to be for Christmas from my wife ... but I just can't keep from trying them on a wearing them around the house at cocktail hour.  Wow, what a smoking boot. I can see these being hard to pry off my feet.  Can't wait to get some milage on these babies.  Off to the wrapping table ... maybe another couple days  ha!

Any insightful thoughts is highly appreciated..

I started noticing from what it looks like is leather cracking on my Marlow. I sent them to RL store and per their assessment, it is due to wear and tear and also noted that I should have noticed the imperfection upon receiving the item which was purchased April this year, which I respectfully disagree. I mean how can I possibly detect this without wearing them. In my opinion, it is a defective product/leather. Obviously my hope was a replacement which they will not do. But they offered to send the pair to Rago Brothers in NJ (which I believe is a reputable co) RL will cover any repair cost but my argument is that you cannot repair cracked leather as it will get worse.

I'm trying to decide if I should take the offer and send them for repair or take a principled position that is is defective product and have them ship the pair back to me. Am I right or just out of luck and stuck with a defective product? I guess another excuse to buy a second pair. smile.gif

Thanks...

Those look awful!  They look decades old.  How did they even get to this state in only eight months?
