Gents, I need your opinions.

I have this J Crew heather charcoal tweed coat and I was thinking about afixing the brown buttons found below to it. It currently has the stock black buttons on it. What are your thoughts?

big fan of this fabric (despite the creepy headlessness)... can anybody suggest where i might find a similar rtw jacket, or some similar fabric to have one made? new to tweed, and pretty much everything else, haha

Like those sleeves and sleeve caps. Nice coat.

@ Willin - I'm not a huge fan of leather buttons, but lots of tweed lovers will agree that they are a solid choice. I think brown horn buttons would be a good upgrade as well....either way, definitely get something to replace the stock black buttons.

I, on the other hand, think highly of them. Do it!

What type of tweed is this? I am going to wear this now that the weather is getting cooler, at least at night.

That is a light brown or tan barleycorn.

Barleycorn! yes. I couldn't think of this patterns name, though I recall someone mentioning it on here.

I love the leather (I'm assuming) buttons and have them on a brown herringbone overcoat, but I think they would be too much on this particular jacket. In their place- fantastic, but brown leather on grey tweed looks contrived - wrong color and out of proportion IMO. Perhaps slightly bigger dark horn buttons if u can source them.
Whatsdasourceondoes buttons?

Damn

Only man in LA wearing tweed today. Hey! It's overcast and cool and I'm headed to SFO at 6:00 am.
